Sgt. Martin Riggs (Lethal Weapon)



Before becoming a police officer, Martin Riggs enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he received extensive training in weaponry and hand-to-hand combat. Riggs is reckless (for everybody's safety, including his own) and impulsive. He is one of those guys who make up plans as they go. Call it luck, but this homicide detective always delivers (bodies and arrests). However, the tragic death of his wife left him prone to depression and suicide, which makes him even more dangerous.

Max Rockatansky (Mad Max)



If "crazy" is the criterion, the name Mad Max says it all. I mean, do you really want to compare to that? Max Rockatansky (a.k.a. Mad Max, Raggedy Man and The Road Warrior) is a patrol officer who upholds law and order on the roads of dystopic Australia. Unlike Sgt. Martin Riggs, Max is a man of a few words. He is well trained in combat and especially in driving. The Road Warrior employs whatever force necessary to take down the ruthless gang members, which often makes him wonder if he is any different than the criminals he pursues.
