Tom Hanks Has Type 2 Diabetes

Captain Phillips star and America's coolest man, Tom Hanks, revealed some shocking news recently. TIME reports that the veteran actor has Type 2 Diabetes. What's even more shocking is that he'd noticed the symptoms twenty years ago, but no one diagnosed him until now.



Here is what he told David Letterman:

The 57-year old actor disclosed his ailment during an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman when the host commented on his slim figure.

“I went to the doctors and they said, ‘you know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been living with since you were 36, well you’ve graduated, you’ve got Type 2 Diabetes young man,’” Hanks said, according to the Daily Mail.
