It was a clean sweep for FOX as five games of the World Series trumps all other programming. The five game series placed all games within the top 15 spots, including the series clincher, at #5. All five games drew over 13 million viewers and the two extra inning games, one & five, were the most watched. Game one drew just under 15 million viewers and game five at just over 17.2 million.
With FOX's five games of the World series and NFL action on FOX, CBS and NBC, just four of the top 15 spots of the chart are sports programs. The four non-sports programs are from CBS. NCIS at #7, THE BIG BANG THEORY at #9, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS at #14 and the top freshman series, SUPER GIRL, at #15. CBS had a total of 13 programs in the top 30, more than any other network.
NBC dud manage to squeeze six shows into the top 30. The battle of the unbeaten, Denver vs Green Bay, collected 23 million for the #2 spot and CHICAGO FIRE placed 30th, with 7.8 million.
ABC was a distant 4th place this week and just three of its programs made the top 30. DWTS only managed the #17 spot. 20/20 grabbed the #27 spot and SCANDAL managed the #29 spot. It was over two million viewers behind NBC in total viewers and a half a point behind CBS in the A18-49 demo.
