When Washington politics heat up, the cable news outlets see ratings get boosted. All nine hours of primetime coverage from FOX News, CNN and MSNBC were within the first 18 spots, with FOX pushing their night within the top five, MSNBC within the top 10 and CNN between 10 and 18th place. FOX saw a night-over-night jump of 900,000 viewers and a full point in the A18-49 demographic.
