Things for Wonder Woman are not looking so wonderful. MTV News is reporting that the latest TV series centering on the superheroine, called Amazon, is no longer in development. CW president Mark Pedowitz issued an official statement which explains his reservations.

After NBC and David E. Kelly swung and missed on their failed "Wonder Woman" pilot in 2011, The CW swooped in with their own attempt at bringing Diana of Themyscira to the small screen in a show called "Amazon." Last year, the network passed on the initial script, ordered a second one, and ... well, that appears to have been the end of it, as CW president Mark Pedowitz has now confirmed to IGN that "Amazon" isn't going forward.
"These are iconic characters," he reasoned, "so we're going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot."

However, not all hope for the less successful characters of the Justice League line-up is lost. Pedowitz also sheds some light on the possible Flash series, which he wants to launch "with a bang," eventually. Yo, Mark, do you know what could get you the bang you're looking for? - A half-naked busty brunette dressed in the American colors! Oh well, next time maybe.

Here is what Pedowitz added in regards to The Flash spinoff:

"I'm very bullish on the show," Pedowitz said of where things stand with "The Flash," played by Grant Gustin and introduced on "Arrow" earlier this year. "I think what Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns and Marc Guggenheim did introducing the character on 'Arrow' was great. And because of that, we felt that rather than try to squeeze in a spinoff, let's make it into a bigger pilot. So if we do launch the series, we'll launch it with a bang like we launched 'Arrow.'"
