It ain't his fault...
Have you seen any of James Franco's half-naked selfies? One particular photo got a lot of media coverage a couple of weeks ago. Just to recap, the image shows the Oz: The Great and Powerful actor touch himself in front of the mirror.
Talking to David Letterman on the Late Show (video below), James said that taking controversial pictures of himself is nothing but a method of gaining more followers on Instagram. I'm not sure I believe that, though. He also compared his case to Britney Spears' "shaved head moment" a couple years ago.

Franco, whose recent selfies have included a swiftly deleted shirtless shot with his hand down his underpants, told the host: 'There's a lot to get straight here and I don't even know if we have time.
'But to me, it's just a fun thing. It's something I don't put a ton of thought into, but it gets a lot of attention. I have a lot of followers on Instagram.'
'[It's] like that Britney Spears shaved head moment, where it's sort of like, "All right, you want me? Here you can have me, but I am going to be really ugly,"' he said.
'I didn't ask you to look at it. It's what the people want... If you don't want to see it, don't follow me.
'Don't follow me on Instagram.'
