Primetime Cable Ratings: April 28, 2016

The regular season is still over four months away, but the NFL was #1 on Thursday night, with its annual college draft. Cover by by both ESPN and the NFL Network, a total of 8.3 million viewers tuned into the first round selections of each team. ESPN, alone, hauled in 6.3 million viewers and a strong 2.7 rating in Adults 18-49 and a solid 3.8 rating in Men 18-49. As good as those numbers are, they are down from last year. ESPN dropped 700,000 viewers and two tents of a point in the A18-49 demo. Some of that was made up by the NFL Network, which added 200k in total viewership.
