TV News: Twitter Wins NFL Streaming Rights for TNF

Twitter has won the rights to stream Thursday Night NFL games for the 2016 season. The social media platform out bid Yahoo, Amazon, Verizon and Facebook for the 10 Game package.

No terms were disclosed, but it is believed that Twitter will pay less than $10 million for the package. However, Re/Code has the rights fee between $15 million and $20 million.

Twitter will use its Periscope live video platform to distribute the games to a global audience.
