US Box Office Results: October 14 - 16, 2016

The Ben Affleck suspense thriller, THE ACCOUNTANT, was this weekend's top grossing movie, hauling in 24.7 million in its first three days of release. That is more than half of its $44 million production budget, of which it will come close to doubling by the time its theatrical run ends. This is a better opening weekend than recent Affleck suspense films, like THE TOWN and ARGO, but behind GONE GIRL, released in 2014.
