The long delayed, much anticipated premiere of STAR TREK DISCOVERY, the 6th live action series in the franchise, finally happened on CBS. The one hour, first episode drew 9.5 million viewers and a 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49, ranking second in its time slot, behind Sunday Night Football. The ratings are somewhat irrelevant as the series shifted to CBS All-Access, for episode two at 10 PM and all episodes, from this point forward. Getting subscribers to follow the series to the streaming service will be the ultimate payoff and Sunday was record day for subscriber signups. I, for one, did just that and watched both the second hour of the series and the fun and funny post-show, AFTER TREK.
