Guy Pearce to Play Johnny Depp's Brother in Gangster Flick BLACK MASS

Johnny Depp and Guy Pearce both have played gangsters in their impressive careers. Now it seems they will collaborate in the upcoming gangster movie based on true events - Black Mass.



Depp had initially dropped out of the project, but then signed up again just recently. Variety reports that Pearce is rumored to play Johnny's character's brother.

Guy Pearce is in talks to play Whitey Bulger’s brother in Warner Bros. and Cross Creek’s “Black Mass” starring Johnny Depp as Bulger.

Joel Edgerton is also on board with Scott Cooper set to direct. Cross Creek will co-finance the pic with Warner Bros.

Besides being a crime boss, Bulger was also an FBI informant who used this status as a way to eliminate criminal competition. After being tipped off by a childhood friend who worked for the FBI in the early 2000s about the feds being on to him, Bulger went on the lam, living with his girlfriend in a Santa Monica apartment building, and was not caught until 2011.
